A graduate of Yale’s prestigious Opera Program, soprano Adelaide Trombetta made her debut on the Metropolitan Opera stage at age 21, under the direction of Marco Armiliato, as a National Finalist in the renowned Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions. Since then, soprano Adelaide Muir Trombetta has rapidly gained recognition as a world-class singer and a compelling stage performer. She has performed leading concert and stage roles, throughout the United States, and several performances in Europe. Her most notable performances include Musetta in La Bohème, Euridice in Orpheus in the Underworld, Pamina in Die Zauberflöte, Rosalinde in Die Fledermaus, and Konstanze in The Abduction of the Seraglio. Abroad, she has enjoyed repeated seasons with L’Orchestra Giuseppe Verdi of Milan, and Das Verein Opera of Zurich, performing the leading roles of Hanna Glawari (The Merry Widow); Euridice (Orpheus in the Underworld); Ana (The Seven Deadly Sins by Kurt Weill); Lilli Vanessi “Katharina” (Kiss Me Kate); and Rosalinde (Die Fledermaus). Equally comfortable on the concert stage, Adelaide is a regular featured soloist for oratorio, concert works, and Holiday performances. She has enjoyed numerous appearances with Opera on the James, Opera Roanoke, The Roanoke Symphony, The Blue Ridge Chorus, The Jefferson Choral Society, and The Oratorio Society of Charlottesville. She has also performed several cross-over concerts allowing her to showcase her hidden talents in jazz, musical theater, and even tap dancing. In April of 2017 she made her Carnegie Hall debut in Weill Recital Hall and has recently released her solo debut album “Sempre Libera” with pianist David Stewart Wiley. Adelaide is currently an Associate Professor of Voice and Director of the Opera Workshop at Liberty University, and resides in Lynchburg with her husband and their two daughters.
