As we enter 2016, VBRMF continues to move ahead with its mission and music endeavors. Our areas of focus going forward are to:
- Promote music education, especially the support of local young people.
- Make classical music and a blend of classical/Appalachian heritage music affordable and available in our community.
- Provide an array of musical offerings – house concerts, chamber orchestra, and ensembles – with special emphasis on families and seniors.
- Offer grants and scholarships to support promising area music programs and young musicians.
- Develop stronger collaborations with area schools and arts organizations.
Maestro David Stewart Wiley looks forward to his ongoing involvement with the community and VBRMF. We are excited about the possibilities ahead.
We are moving forward on a smaller, more manageable scale. Donations from individuals and businesses are much appreciated and will be used to support the smaller creative and collaborative classical music projects that have been broadly outlined above. All financial gifts received are tax deductible.
We appreciate the support that has been received and look forward to continue serving the community through our programs and efforts. We invite you to consider making a donation or getting involved as a volunteer (see ‘Support Us’ tab) to help make this collaborative undertaking sustainable.
